CAUSEY v. ALTMAN, NO. 22-CVS-2814 (N.C. Super. Ct.)

On March 4, 2022, Michael Causey, in his capacity as the North Carolina Commissioner of Insurance, filed a Complaint for a Declaratory Judgement, a Temporary Restraining Order, Preliminary Injunction, and Permanent Injunction in the State of North Carolina General Court of Justice, Superior Court Division, naming SHIP, the Statutory Rehabilitator, and the Special Deputy Rehabilitator as Defendants.  The case was removed to the United States District Court for the District of North Carolina at docket number 5:22-cv-00089, but the federal court remanded the matter back to state court, where it remains pending today.
